Homes and cars attacked by yobs
 |
| SPRAY PAINT: Cllr Chris Blakeley with one of the many cars who were vandalised and had their tyres slashed in Moreton over the weekend. The windows of some private homes were targeted, too. |
VEHICLES and property were vandalised in Moreton at the weekend.
On Friday night, ten cars had their tyres slashed in Pasture Avenue, and on Saturday night into Sunday cars in Bradman Road, Harvest Lane, Lingham Lane and Wastdale Drive were spray painted.
Roadsigns, house windows and an electricity substation were also spray painted.
Moreton and Saughall Massie Councillor, Chris Blakeley said: "It was only last Wednesday that residents of Bradman Road attended a residents meeting and made the police and the council aware of the anti-social behaviour that was occurring in the road by people using the passageway as a short cut and asked for it to be stopped up' as a matter of urgency.
| "I hope the mindless idiots are caught and that the full force of the law is applied by the courts." | | Chris Blakeley |
|
"Strange that only three days later they are targeted.
"I hope the mindless idiots are caught and that the full force of the law is applied by the courts. Clearly there people are a menace to society."

Chris hopes the full force of the courts is used? Yeah, they probably need a holiday.

It wasn't just Good Friday, they also did it the previous Friday smashing mirrors and lights on people's cars. This is not funny at all, it's just mindless vandalism. Mine will cost a lot of money to repair.

I'm amazed that the reports of cars being vandalized even made the news.... it's happened here in Wallasey the wing mirrors from cars systematically smashed off from car to car I think there about 12-15 cars involved. It's not the first time it's happened either it must be 3rd or 4th time in 18 months that our area is targeted. Don't hold your breath waiting for the vandals to be caught will you...

Oh dear the hang em and flog em brigade are out again?
the people that did this, are as much victims as these householders. These "yobs" need to be taken on a nice holiday, as unlike you lot, they probably can't afford them. Show them some compassion! The police should make it a priority to find these poor young lads, and show them some love.

Sometimes you wonder why you work hard all your life to be able to afford good stuff only to be destroyed by idiots.

Can't you people smell sarcasm? So much for the meeting with the police. You townsfolk should get together and sort it yourselves, that would work.

i have just read your article on the vandalism on cars in moreton and was wondering if it was the same 7 lettered nice persons that did damage to several cars in pasture avenue the week before easter it was around 2.30 saturday morning when my husband and i were woken by the sound of thudding and broken glass we ran outside to see 2 youths runnig up towards the moreton arms end of the road and not content with damaging my vehicle proceeded to damage at least another 5 by pulling all the wing mirrors off and not content with that threw them across the road to make sure they damaged them more, they couldnt get my head light off so they kicked it in and then threw the glass all over the place which my husband cut his feet on, so if the parents of these darlings who where wearing a red tracksuit and a grey tracksiut with hoods and have no idea what their doing in the early hours of saturday morning just read this but i would really love to know where you think your angels are doing or dont you really care , this incident has been reported to the police along with their discriptions, i dont know what the worlds coming to you work hard to get nice things and then these so called !! ruin it veronica ashall moreton

Ah..just to add that after copying the above link you will need to remove the two spaces after 'crimes' and 'ams.f' before hitting 'go' on your browser. Why the globe blocks links by scrambling them this way I dont know.
