Katy Perry fans have been waiting with bated breath to find out what the pop star was planning as she had teased that she would use her body as “click bait” to “help change the world”.
And now the wait is over, with Katy revealing exactly what she meant in a message encouraging US voters to head to the polls for the presidential election in November.
Katy, who has long been a strong advocate of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, released a video urging people to show off their “just got out of bed look” at the polling booth.
Emerging from her bed with unkempt hair – perhaps a nod to her video for Last Friday Night (TGIF) – and American flag pyjamas, she announces: “Hi, I’m Katy Perry! You know, November 8 is election day, and I’ve got some great news. This year, you can look like s*** when you vote.”
“Any just got out of bed look is just okay,” she adds, before revealing her own outfit: “Or if you’re like me. I sleep naked. Yep. Let those babies loose.”
As police escort her out, she protests: “I read the constitution, I know that I have the right to vote naked.”
“Did you read it or did you just briefly scan it?” the policewoman responds.
Signing off, Katy adds: “Remember to vote. Who cares what you wear just wear clothes. A message from Katy Perry from jail.”
