The Great British Bake Off fans might never get to step inside the hallowed white baking tent, but they will now be able to decorate their Twitter feed with it.

Twitter has unveiled a brand new emoji ahead of the BBC One show’s return tonight, which will be activated every time the official hashtag #GBBO is used.

It features the bunting-bedecked tent which will see 12 new amateurs bakers attempt to try to impress tough judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.

Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc are, of course, back to present and provide a shoulder to cry on.

During Nadiya Hussain’s triumph in last year’s final, there was an average of 2,095 tweets a minute, showing Bake Off fans hate missing a crumb of the action online.

Her new TV series, The Chronicles Of Nadiya, following her return to her roots in Bangladesh, will begin straight after the first episode finishes.
