Singer Kelly Clarkson has cancelled the remainder of her Piece By Piece tour, including her UK dates, on doctor’s orders.

The 33-year-old has been ordered to rest her strained vocal cords, a condition that forced her to pull out of the last six dates of her US tour last month.

Kelly, whose American Idol win in 2002 kicked off her career, is pregnant with her second child. The announcement that she would not be travelling to the United Kingdom or Canada came via her official website.

Her message said: “I am truly sorry that I have to cancel the remainder of my tour dates.

I was so looking forward to sharing this tour with all my amazing fans in Canada and the UK. Unfortunately my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working hard to get better as fast as possible.”

The post was accompanied with a picture of Kelly performing.

The singer and actress was due to hit Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and London in November. Fans will be able to get refunds from the point of purchase.

The Miss Independent singer has lost her voice on previous occasions, including after giving birth to daughter River in 2014. She recently tweeted her disappointment about cancelling her US dates.

Kelly has teamed up with X Factor’s Ben Haenow on his first single since his 2014 win. The song called, Second Hand Heart, is “solid pop” with a “subtle country-folk undertone” and will drop on October 9, before his full album release in November.

The duo first hinted at a collaboration when they tweeted lyrics to the new single. Ben is ecstatic at the collaboration: “It’s incredible. Her voice is insane. I instantly knew this was the first single.”

Talking about the song, Kelly said: “I fell in love with Second Hand Heart with the first listen.

“Lyrically and musically, it is right up my alley. I am excited and honoured to be a part of Ben’s first single from his first album.”

Kelly’s fans will be pleased to hear her voice on new material.
