Rita Ora admitted to feeling as nervous as the singers on The Voice as her debut on the TV show was unveiled.
Black Widow singer Rita, 24, joins Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, 36, Will.i.am, 39, and Sir Tom Jones, 74, as coaches on this year’s fourth series.
The Fifty Shades of Grey actress, who replaces Kylie Minogue as the sole female coach on the panel, joined her co-stars to unveil the first episode ahead of its broadcast on BBC1 on Saturday.
She admitted beforehand: “I’m watching it (for the first time), so I’m so nervous right now.”
At a screening of the first episode, Rita is seen saying as she gets ready for the blind auditions: “The contestants will be nervous but so will I. I’ll be making the same facial expressions.”
Those attempting to find fame on the show include Paul Cullinan, who used to play Bungle in children’s TV show Rainbow, and Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh’s 16-year-old daughter Emilie Cunliffe.
Previous winners of The Voice Leanne Mitchell and Andrea Begley have failed to make their mark on the music world.
Last year’s winner Jermain Jackman’s debut is due out in March.
Presented by Emma Willis, who will also front Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5, and Marvin Humes, the fourth series returns to BBC1 on Saturday.
BBC1 controller Charlotte Moore said The Voice was “an incredibly important show for BBC1 and the BBC”.
Meanwhile, Ora dismissed reports that she turned down a permanent role on rival show The X Factor after she enjoyed a guest stint as a judge on the ITV series.
“I was involved with The X Factor. It’s a great show, whatever,” she said.
But the singer added: “I’ve never been asked to formally be on The X Factor as a judge, 100%. So, there was no turning down involved.”
