IMAGINE missing this exhibition - you will regret it forever.

Double Fantasy is quite simply a modern day 'Must-see happening.'

A fantastic, beautifully curated display - on every level ... and it is in John Lennon's home town.

Any city in the world would love to have this collection.

It is a global first.

Double Fantasy – named after their 'comeback' album details the love story of John and Yoko.

A lot of painstaking TLC has gone into creating one of the best exhibitions about a musical icon I have experienced.

You feel touched by every item and piece of - art joint and solo - and every quote speaking volumes from the walls.

Yoko herself had been to see the exhibition before the press preview.

The exhibition is open from today until April 19 next year.

Fans will be able to enjoy a real eye-opening treat that is sentimental, emotional and joyous.

It explores like never before John and Yoko's story in their own words.

As a life-long Beatle fan, author and historian, I can say I had a few tears looking at some of the displays in the cabinets and on the walls.

Whether it’s John's New York emblazoned T-shirt or his NHS spectacles you are taken back in time on a magical history story starring John and Yoko.

It is a very moving account of how love and peace were not just words for this extraordinary couple who were masters of communication.

This is an everlasting love story.

I sat in the 12-seater cinema watching the wheels of John's mind go round and his utter devotion to Yoko.

There are home movies studio clips of him making the Imagine album.

One surreal short film features guest appearances from Jack Palance, Fred Astaire and Beatle pal George Harrison.

We see John and Yoko playing snooker - blind-folded; the couple laughing in a rowing boat and at home sharing afternoon tea.

There is footage I have never seen before which will delight gallery-goers of all ages.

It will no doubt brings Beatle fans from all over the world to the Museum of Liverpool.

The whole gallery is in white with quotes in easy-to-read black lettering.

John's Green Card allowing him to live in the USA and an engraved mirror declaring his love for Yoko tell their own story.

Hand-written lyrics and personal objects are shown while the timeless music is played over the speakers.

This exhibition is a finely-tuned, almost dream-like journey and a piece of living history that cannot fail to tug at your heart strings.

As Yoko says in a quote on the wall: "A dream you dream alone is only a dream.

"A dream we dream together is a reality."

Welcome home John ... and Yoko, thanks for the memories.

Unmissable - five stars
