GARY Murphy and his band present their tribute to Dire Straits at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton next month.

The show, in the theatre's Blue Lounge on Friday May 5, is part of busy schedule for the Wirral group.

Their Guitar Legends – The Rock & Roll Years is at the Cavern Club in Liverpool on Sunday May 28, and the Epstein Theatre on Thursday, July 27.

During the shows Gary and the boys will play the hits of Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Duane Eddy, The Shadows, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Gilmour, Albert Lee, Angus Young and many more.

The show highlights many different guitar styles including rock, pop, jazz and country and has something for all ages.

Gary and the band will be accompanied on both shows by guest narrators - BBC Radio Merseyside presenters Billy Butler and Roger Lyon - who will give an insight into the lives and songs of some of our best loved guitar heroes.

Billy will narrate at the Epstein, with Roger taking on the job at the Cavern.

Gary said: "We're having a busy Spring and are currently rehearsing for both shows and preparing for our Movie Anthems show which will be returning to the Floral Pavilion Theatre, by popular demand, on November 18.

"We're really looking forward to performing".
