THE term 'walk-in-wardrobe' takes on a whole new meaning when you venture into this enjoyable eye-opening experience.

The whole of St George's Hall in Liverpool has been transformed for The Narnia Experience - a marvellous inter-active version of the CS Lewis Classic, which is open at the iconic venue until February 25

The characters come alive in a wonderful setting in a 90-minute event that has been created in partnership with Christian organisation In Another Place.

Visitors can meet Mr Tumnnus, the White Witch and Aslan the lion, and learn about themes such as temptation, loyalty and sacrifice.

In Another Place specialises in bringing the Christian message to the public in innovative and creative ways, and previous projects have included telling the Nativity story on Crosby beach.

Schools booked all daytime places in the first week, now the public can visit from 4pm-7pm.

Around 15,000 visitors are expected to attend this unique event over the two-week period.

Annie Spiers, Head of In Another Place told the Globe: "For Narnia fans we hope this will be an unforgettable experience.

"Visitors actually walk through the story, through a forest of 80 pine trees and throne rooms.

"You can visit Mr Tumnus in his house and the scary White Witch on her throne. And walk along the stepping stones.

"The set, costumes and scenery has been created by a huge team of volunteers - this is Merseyside demonstrating the power of community - 500 volunteers pooling their creative skills to put on an event for ordinary people to enjoy, and in one of the most prestigious buildings in the city.

"We have plenty of keen volunteers from Wirral.

"Don't miss it - it will probably never happen again".

The Narnia Experience was first carried out back in 2009, when over 3,000 people visited Old Christ Church in Waterloo to see the production, with 78 different classes from 30 schools visiting.
