LITTLE MIX are to join Madness as a headline act at Tranmere Rovers’ ground for 'Wirral Live'.

Famous for hits such as Wings, Black Magic and Shout Out To My Ex Little Mix will perform on the final night of three days of music at Prenton Park on May 19-21.

This will be the chart-toppers first UK show of the year ahead of their upcoming UK tour in October.

After auditioning individually during the 2011 series of The X Factor the girl band was put together by judges at bootcamp but had to change their name from Rhythmix to Little Mix after a dispute with a children’s music charity in Brighton.

Signed to Simon Cowell's Syco Music record label, they are the first group to have won the competition and their latest release Glory Days became the group’s first UK number one album.

Nicola Palios of Tranmere Rovers said: “We are really excited to have Prenton Park host such a globally recognisable name as Little Mix for 'Wirral Live'.

“Wirral Live is a great opportunity for the Club, Wirral tourism and local businesses as well as giving Wirral a flagship music venue capable of attracting some of the World’s biggest acts.”

Chief operating officer at Tranmere Rovers Peter Shaw added: “First 'Wirral Live' announced Madness and initial sales have gone really well, now we announce Little Mix whose first UK stop will be 'Wirral Live' five months before their main UK tour.

“We are expecting a rush for tickets and have put systems in place to ensure that the sales process will cope with the demand.”
