THE Port Sunlight Players will stage Richard Harris' classic comedy Stepping Out next month.

It is about eight adults who, at first, treat the weekly classes in the church hall as social occasions and show little coordination.

However, as time goes on, the comedy, pathos and skills emerge alongside the characters' interaction...

It is said that Harris was inspired to write the comedy by his wife, who said he should visit a tap-dancing class and observe "as there might be a play in it".

It will be staged at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight from Thursday, July 7 to Saturday, July 9. Performances start at 7.30pm.

Tickets, £8, are from the Gladstone Theatre Box Office on 643 8757 or www.gladstonetheatre.org.uk
