THE stars of Europe's biggest burlesque show come to Wirral later this year.

Showcasing award-winning talent from across the country, An Evening Of Burlesque will be staged at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on Friday, April 15.

It promises to be the most glamorous show on tour, a combination of sultry vocals, breathtaking choreography, mischief, magic, frivolity and fun.

It's all tease and no sleaze, bringing variety back to the theatre, combining musical and theatrical parody, magic, comedy and dance with the art of striptease.

The lavish production invites theatregoers to dress up and become part of the show.

Burlesque ranks as one of the oldest forms of classic variety and the show's producer Michael Taylor's aim is to keep this form of entertainment alive.

He said: "Burlesque is the ultimate parody, it's an escape from everything we accept as reality. It's brash, it's glamorous, it's lude, it's a little bit rude!!

"This is one of the oldest forms of classic variety.

"If life is all about experience then this is an experience unlike any other and not to be missed.

"It's an evening for excess, it’s An Evening of Burlesque."

The show features turns from all-star performers including Angie Sylvia, the Swedish siren who trained in hip hop and vogue at the Broadway Dance Center, New York. Her repertoire also includes Arabian Nights, complete with fire eating. . .

Also taking to the stage are The Folly Mixtures – a burlesque quartet choreographed to thrill, featuring a tasty assortment of lip-smacking routines with themes drawn from around the world.

Also appearing is Miss Ooh La Lou. She trained at Italia Conti stage school and has appeared in numerous West End musicals.

Storm Hooper's explosive, show-stealing hula-hoop performances promise to defy both the laws of gravity and impossibility, leaving audiences in an old-school vaudeville spin.

AJ James will treat you to gravity-defying feats of balance involving knife juggling that features audience participation with a wince-inducing twist.

The show's producer Michael Taylor continued: "You'll cheer for the amazing visual spectacles you’ll see, you'll laugh at the incredible interaction.

"You'll witness the ladies of burlesque and you’ll leave …. breathless."
