THE Everyman Theatre is lit up like a huge Christmas tree. Hope Street looks magical.

Inside a huge stage bedecked in colours from all childhood memories welcomes audiences of all ages to pull a cracker.

Oh and what a rock and roller coaster it is.

Twenty-five years of offering seasonal shows looks like a never ending story for Rapunzel - Hairway to Heaven is puntastic.

See, it's catching. I love current puns. They are hair, there and everywhere.

Oh, and what a rock and roller coaster it is.

Wirral Globe:

Tom Connor as Lord Alistair Banister and Marianne Benedict as Posionella Pic: Robert Day

We all want a happy ending but there are some hair-raising moments.

The writers Sarah A Nixon and Mark Chatterton (who directs)  know their audiences as do Everyman and Playhouse gurus Gemma Bodinetz and Deborah Aydon.

When you see kids, mums, dads and grannies dancing along to Queen's Play The Game and Guns 'n' Roses Sweet Child O' Mine it says it all.

Wirral Globe:

Lipa graduate Stephanie Hockley as Rapunzel

Marianne Benedict as Posionella has great chemistry with the ever-excellent Tom Connor as Lord Alistair Banister. His guitar work was exceptional.

Rapunzel, played by Lipa graduate Stephanie Hockley, sings out loud and sensitive. We have a star here.

Everyman faves Adam Keast and Francis Tucker do their double act and it works a treat. They make it fun.

And that is where I came in. And where you should go in.

Globe rating: 9/10 HAIR...LARIOUS

The show runs until January 23.
