THE Port Sunlight Players stage their production of Tim Firth's comedy play The Flint Street Nativity next week.
It follows Mizzis Horrocks' class of seven year olds who are about to perform their nativity play at Flint Street Junior School for the proud mums and dads - and the occasional social worker.
But festive joy turns to squabbles as Gabriel wants to play Mary and the Star grumbles that he's not a proper star like they have at NASA.
The boy playing Herod won't stop waving to mum and dad, the subversive Innkeeper is determined to liven up the traditional script, and then the stick insect escapes ...
The children are played by adults, who later play their parents so the set changes accordingly to reflect the difference in scale.
The show will be staged at the Gladstone Theatre in Greendale Road, Port Sunlight from next Thursday to Saturday, October 15-17. Performances start at 7.30pm.
Tickets are from the box office on 0151 643 8757.
