Latest ComScore figures show the recently launched Newsquest-CareerBuilder jobs site network to have risen to third in the UK market.

The network, incorporating Newsquest newspaper sites, CareerBuiler UK, Yahoo and MSN amongst others, started the year in 5th place with 1.01m UK adults behind Total Jobs(2m), Reed(1.9m), Jobsite(1.59m) and Monster(1.56m).

Sustained growth throughout the first quarter has seen the NQ-CB network increase it's audience by almost 50% to 1.56m in March. With competitor sites traffic either in decline or remaining static we have consequently risen to 3rd place behind Reed(1.9m) and Total Jobs(1.8m) but ahead of Monster(1.3m) and Jobsite(1.3m).

This growth is the result of the work undertaken by ourselves and CareerBuilder to raise the profile of CareerBuilder and continue to promote our sites as the number one place for local people to find local jobs.

Not only is this a great sales story for ourselves but our clients are also seeing the benefit with the average expression of interest (EOI/Application) per job rising from 4.6 in December 2010 to 8.6 in March 2011. Furthermore the performance of jobs within our areas of strength are far out-performing our expectations;

Industry Sector - EOI/Applications

  • Admin/Secretarial - 27.5 Customer
  • Service - 20.6
  • Accountancy - 18.9
  • Public Sector - 14.5
  • Catering - 16.6

Please make sure your teams are all aware of these fantastic achievements. In addition to the Omniture reports we are putting together a new suite of reports on our jobs pages performance which you will receive in due course.
