Lymm's third string secure second win of the season

OVERNIGHT frost disrupted rugby at Lymm on Saturday with only the third XV getting a game.

They pulled off a remarkable 38-24 victory against the Miller Homes League Division Three West leaders.

For only the second time this season, Lymm converted potential into points.

A solid defensive display laid the platform for victory against a strong Northwich side that had only lost one previous game.

Craig Woolvine at 10, playing in his fifth position this season, released the Lymm backs into try scoring positions and Giles Dugdale was the main beneficiary with four tries.

Lymm: Ollie Brown, Rob Pawsey, Jordan Widdrington, Tom Darbyshire, Jack Quayle, Scott Hickman, Jake Ashall, Richard Bancroft, Tom Wood, Craig Woolvine, Tom Lord, Dean Devonald, Matt Connolly, Giles Dugdale, Callum Morgan, subs: David Coon, Rob Gilmore, Ashley Lord, Paul Rathbone.

Lymm’s first XV are next in action on February 13 at home to Altrincham Kersal, kick off 2.15pm, with a former players’ reunion taking place from 12.30pm onwards. All former players are welcome to attend.
