JOHN MARTIN 17th August 2016 1942 - 2016. Died peacefully at home following a short battle with cancer, leaving a broken hearted family. Much beloved husband to Susan. Loving father to Sarah and Jenny and son-in-law George. Cherished grandad to Amelia and Rose. Family and friends will treasure their memories of John's kindness, warmth, humour, zest for life and knowledge as well as his musical talent. Known by some as 'Big John the Teach' he was headteacher of Mount Primary School, Wallasey from 1979 - 2000. Sleep peacefully until we meet again. A Service will be held at All Saint's Church, Thornton Hough on Friday 9th September at 11.00 a.m. followed by cremation at Landican Crematorium. Family flowers only please. A lovely, lovely man :-) so sorry to hear of his passing. He was my son's headmaster at Mount Primary and he made the school a wonderful place for the kids. His guitar playing and singing were awesome :-) and his kind and laid back nature made him a unique head teacher, well ahead of his time. All the children loved him xxxxx
