FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze on an industrial estate in Ellesmere Port this morning.
The fire, at Unicorn Engineering in Meadow Lane, was reported at around 6am sent smoke billowing out over the M53.
Eight fire appliances were at the scene including the aerial appliance from Chester. They kept a nearby natural gas pipeline cool with water and thermal imaging cameras are in use to check for hot spots. Fire-fighters stopped the fire from spreading into the premises.
Nobody has been reported injured. The blaze caused congestion on the M53 due to motorists slowing down to look at the smoke.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
